Troubleshooting

Find the next useful check instead of guessing at a fix.

The bake window cannot find an adapter

Confirm that one matching official spine-unity Runtime and its corresponding optional adapter are installed. Resolve Console compilation errors first. In minimal projects, install the official Runtime’s UGUI prerequisite when required. Playback of the included demo needs no adapter.

The checker rejects an animation

Read the blocking diagnostic with its animation/slot context. Compare the input against conversion scope. Prepare a separate compatible source/export; keep the original intact. Events can only be discarded by explicitly enabling Ignore events. Default skin must actually exist.

Pink, missing or unexpectedly dark rendering

Check shader compilation, assigned resource/material and pipeline. URP must use UniversalRenderer Forward. Verify the atlas texture and PMA/straight-alpha choice on dark and light backgrounds. Check camera framing, scale, layer and culling mask. Do not switch to HDRP or Renderer2D as a workaround.

Crowd is invisible or time advances twice

Confirm instancing support and an instancing-enabled bundled material. Check the Crowd Layer, camera mask and VisibleCamera. AutoAdvance defaults to true; disable it before manually calling Advance each frame. Do not reuse a removed, cleared or foreign handle.
